Alexandra Cutean

Chief Research Officer

Alexandra Cutean is the Chief Research Officer at the Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC). With over a decade of experience in research and policy analysis, Alexandra leads ICTC’s research and policy arm, the Digital Think Tank.

As ICTC’s head of research and policy, Alexandra’s work is rooted in a desire to support a digital future that is diverse, inclusive, equitable, and sustainable. She has led initiatives and authored reports on topics like transformative technologies, labour market needs and skill shifts, economic trends and policy, social impacts, and environmental sustainability. Her work has resonated with audiences across Canada and internationally.

Prior to joining ICTC, Alexandra spent more than five years working internationally, in the United States and Europe. During this time, she investigated topics including social and environmental welfare, clean technology, active transit, taxation, and governance. She has previously held roles at organizations including PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), and the European Commission.

Most recently, Alexandra has completed a certificate in Executive Leadership from the Said Business School at the University of Oxford. Alexandra also holds two Master of Science (MSc) degrees from the University of Amsterdam: one in International Relations and European Affairs, and another in Conflict Resolution, Negotiation and Governance. She has a post-graduate certificate in Professional Communication from the University of British Columbia; a diploma in International Business from Humber College; and an Honours Bachelor or Arts (BA) degree in Political Science and English from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Alexandra volunteers as a mentor for Women in Communications Technology, and as an expert panelist for the Labour Market Information Council (LMIC). In her spare time, she can be found cartooning, creative writing, and enjoying the great outdoors in beautiful Squamish, British Columbia.
